Meet our Team

Dr. Hansen received his dental degree from the University Of Nebraska Medical Center in 1989. He started his Montrose practice in 1990. Dr. Hansen believes in "Dentistry with Integrity" and recommends dental care based on what he would want for his own family. Dental services are provided in a friendly atmosphere with a fully trained and competent staff. Dr. Hansen and his wife of 28 years, Suzanne, have 3 children: a son and daughter in college at Colorado State University and a son at Montrose High School. Outside of the dental office, Dr. Hansen enjoys boating, fishing, hiking, traveling, and time spent with his family.

I am very excited to partner with Dr. Doug Hansen and his team.  I feel Dr. Hansen has great clinical expertise and use of modern dental techniques and equipment.  He is very honest and forthcoming with his patients and his team.  He also has a clear vision of what he wants to achieve for the future of the practice.  I have also discovered he is very respected by his peers and in the community. 

My family and I finally decided to follow our dreams and move to the Western Slope of Colorado.  After 15 years of practice in Littleton, Colorado, the timing was right for us to relocate and have another dentist assume the professional duties of my practice.  We are looking forward to enjoying all that Montrose and the Uncompahgre Valley has to offer.  Both my wife and I are from smaller Midwest hometowns and the lure of the homey feeling of Montrose has been on our minds for a few years now.  I sold my practice in Littleton, CO in February and am looking forward to joining alliance with Dr. Doug Hansen and his team.  I look forward to meeting all of the patients and am truly excited to develop relationship with my new team and new patients. 

I am eager to begin practicing dentistry again.  During my time off, my wife and I traveled to Italy and through the Midwest visiting family and friends.  It was such a treat to have the time away, but I really have missed doing dentistry.  I have wanted to be a dentist since I was 8 years old.  My father was a pharmacist and my mother was a nurse.  They always encouraged me to follow my aspirations.  I received my degree at Southern Illinois University in 1995. I started practicing dentistry in my hometown of Rockford, IL for 2 years before the lure of mountains and outdoors brought me to Colorado in 1997.

Since then I have dedicated myself to all aspects of dentistry, including the most advanced technology in digital radiography, dental laser treatment and Cosmetic and Implant procedures. I am a member of many prestigious education facilities, including the Cerec Doctors Faculty Club and the Spear Faculty Club.

I enjoy and commit myself to continuing education and have completed many courses at the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and World Laser Institute- Dental Laser Certification.  Most recently, I completed courses mastering posterior and anterior restorations with Cerec Doctors in Scottsdale, AZ.

Some of my hobbies and interests outside of dentistry are cooking, biking, skiing, playing golf, fishing, playing guitar, hiking and camping.  My family and I look forward to discovering all of this and more in the Montrose area. 

Hannah has been working with Hansen and Amundson Dental Group since 2003. She graduated from Intellitec in Grand Junction with a degree in dental assisting. She enjoys learning and experiencing new and interesting technology in the dental field.

Away from the office, Hannah enjoys spending time four-wheeling and camping with her family and friends.

Jan brings many talents to our office as a former English teacher, executive secretary and business owner. She has been working with Hansen and Heiner Dental Group since 1996. She enjoys assisting patients with their dental care, but especially appreciates the friendships she has formed with many long-standing patients.

Jan and her husband, Russ are both from Colorado pioneer families. They have one son, Ryan, who is an architect. Jan takes great pride in her yard, enjoys reading, craft projects and traveling.

Donna is a native of Montrose and started her career in dentistry while still in high school. While working as a dental assistant, she completed an EDDA program through Colorado University. She worked several years as a dental assistant and office manager before going back to school to become a dental hygienist. Donna graduated from Foothill College in 1981 with a degree in health sciences/dental hygiene. She attended University of California, San Francisco to continue her education in dental hygiene and public health. Donna also has a degree in business administration.

Donna has numerous years of periodontal and general dentistry experience and has also worked in a Public Health clinic serving the Southern Ute, Navajo and Zuni Indians. She enjoys the diversity of working in a general dental practice and seeing patients of all ages. Donna's primary focus as a dental hygienist is to improve patient's oral health, and consequently, their overall health.

After living in several states and cities, Donna returned to Montrose a few years ago. She is enjoying a less hectic lifestyle and the opportunity to be close to some of her family and the mountains. She enjoys photography, various crafts, cross country skiing, traveling and being outdoors.

Ginnette is a 1998 graduate of Colorado Northwestern Community College. She has worked full time in Montrose as a registered dental hygienist for over 10 years. Ginnette is licensed to administer nitrous oxide analgesia and local anesthetic for her patients’ comfort. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. Scientific research has shown that one’s oral health can have an impact on overall health and one’s quality of life. Ginnette regularly attends continuing education classes to stay current with the latest dental products and therapies in an effort to assist her patients in maintaining their optimum oral health.

Ginnette and her husband are natives of Colorado and returned to make their home here in 1994. While away from the office, Ginnette enjoys rollerblading, hiking, camping, scuba diving, and designing and making jewelry.

Nichole is a Montrose native and a recent graduate from Colorado Northwestern Community College, where she received her associates of applied sciences degree in dental hygiene. Upon graduation she gained dental experience filling in for various offices around Montrose and has worked for Hansen and Amundson Dental since Jan. 2011. She continues to attend continuing education classes to stay current with the latest dental treatments and products in an effort to assist her patients in understanding and maintaining their optimum oral health. The most enjoyable part of her career is establishing and maintaining friendships with her patients of all ages.

Away from the office, Nichole and her husband Rafael enjoy traveling, dancing, gambling, watching and attending sporting events and most of all spending time with their friends and family.
